There is some parking on the main street of Rothiemay.

From the Rothiemay main street head north and turn right (1) down the track next to the old Castle Gatehouse. Follow this road for 300m and make a right down a grassy path. (2)

Follow this grassy path round to the left and down to the end of the field. (3) Follow this path to the right and it should take you next to Queen Mary's Bridge by the River Deveron. (4)

Take a right at the bridge and follow the track past a fishing hut and through a stone gateway. (5) Take a track leading up right before reaching the bridge (6) which will take you back to the main street.

Route Summary

A short, easy circular walk from Rothiemay following a mown grass path along the north bank of the Deveron to a historic bridge, reputedly built for a visit of Mary Queen of Scots to Rothiemay Castle.

Difficulty
Easy: Generally a smooth firm surface with well drained material and minimal loose material. Suitable for all types of bikes. Riders with good health and basic bike skills.
